Preliminary Finished Products

A) On my front page, it contains a very dominant "warm" colour tone, with oranges and pink, this gives a overal bright attracting magazine cover. The font is also set in this scheme and stands out relatively well on the front cover, the font is set in a sort of "laid back" chatty style and not so formal. The picture in the background is of a boy and a girl appearing to be happy; this gives a good feel to the college and very inviting, this shot is a medium shot camera angle with a straight on view of the two people. The finishing quality to the background is a grainy vibrant look with an almost negative effect. The lighting appears to be more brighter on the people which is a good symbol of a person college, and making the students look like they come first.
The contents page matches the colour scheme like the one on the front page with again bright colours which I would say is an enticing piece of imagery. The style of the contents page follows the trend of the sort of laid back look, by having the different shapes and placements within the contents page.
My product I would say is appropriate for my target audience for the reason that the colours and laid back style is very "catchy", which is appealing to 16-18 year olds, and perhaps a little more out of that range as well.
B) The products work well in the fact that they are based for the certain age range of having a laid back catchy style, the only problem is the age range wouldn't extend that far and woldn't appeal to a larger audience, if people were perhaps looking for something more serious, it wouldn't really entice those with the vibrant colours. But the colours did indeed work well for the catchy vibe I think, giving it a boost in that something different.
C) As a result of doing the preliminary task I was able to extend my use of Photoshop, and experiment with different ideas. and also be able to evaluate work with the use of content and technical coding. When using the photoshop program I discovered many different uses like the photo filter and using the legacy contrast to brightness setting which got me some new effects I will use in future projects.

Your products demonstrate a fair grasp of Photoshop and are interesting, although I am not sure they quite work. Have you asked any college students if they like them?

Your written work is solid, although sometimes your sentences get a little long and confused, and there are one or two spelling errors (eg "their" for "there").

Overall this is promising work, but I think I will see better from you as you develop your skills and ideas.
