Planning my College Magazine

To plan my college magazine, I had first drew out a rough sketch of what the magazine cover would have on it and where, but this was only a rough guide and the finished product wasn't overly the same as the sketch. I then took some of my ideas frmo other magazines, like the contents page of a magazine and the front cover of another magazine, I looked at several so I could try out different ideas. By doing a target audience questionnaire I was able to gather the most important aspects of the magazine by the higher amount of votes on certain topics were obviously the more "excitable" topics than those that had fewer, so this helped me judge what topics could be in the magazine. The results also influenced what cover titles their were, so that people could well be drawn to my magazine by the interesting topics that may lay inside the magazine. When I analysed other college magazines I picked out the sort of "querky" type magazine cover named "SOUP" which had a variety of different topics inside and had a very odd picture background. During the process of planning my cover and contents page, I had obtained several ideas from the different magazines I had picked out, type of colours, font, picture, placings etc.... This influenced my ideas into my planning of my magazine cover and contents page.
