Target Audience

4) Who would be the audience for your media product?

My target audience is for anyone who lives mainly in an urban area like in a city, possibly a town, simply because the music is based very urbanely, played on mainstream radio stations based in urban areas, also for people with high income due to the nature of the music, people who read music magazines generally are interested in making it, which costs a lot in this genre of music. Also the adverts in this type of magazine would be advertising a lot of music technology or anything related to technology. The magazine aims at a more male gender basis but will still obviously appeal to any females interested in that particular genre of music, the age of this gender can differ from around 18 years of age, all the way up to around 30, simply because the technology involved and the imagery of this music is played in mainly clubs where older people would tend to go. The magazines buyers would tend to be more upper middle class down to middle class (B, C1, C2) and because of the nature of the magazine it would be in urban areas, which again relates back to the clubbing scene.
Fade In is a magazine based around the mainstream area but would also bring any of those from other psychographic classes into it, simply because it’s a type of music many people enjoy, but it would definitely be a more mainstream type.
Lifestyles of the audience would involve having a fair bit of money, being an urban magazine means those living in urban areas, places of parties and such events, also its not a type of music that comes cheap to make or succeed in, costing you thousands of pounds for decent gear to follow in the footsteps of these types of musicians.
